How to Care for Fake Flowers and Artificial Plants
Silk flowers are the hassle-free approach to florals. Faux flowers and artificial plants are reusable, durable, non-toxic, and a budget-friendly choice for anyone looking to create stunning, no-maintenance silk flower arrangements.
Types of Artificial Flowers
There are several types of faux flowers including silk, real-touch, and plastic. Silk flowers typically have poly-silk blooms and leaves with a wired plastic stem, for flexibility. Real-touch artificial flowers are made of foam, latex, or have a latex coating which creates a feeling of a live damp petal.
Cleaning
To properly clean artificial flowers, simply use a feather duster, compressed air, or a hairdryer on a cool setting. Faux flowers can also be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Styling
Bending: Most artificial flowers have a wired stem. To design a fake flower arrangement that looks real, bend the stems to create an organic, fresh-cut look. To reuse your flowers without clipping the wire stem, simply bend the end of the stem to the desired height.

Clipping: Artificial flowers typically come with long stems that can be cut down to create different heights within your design. Use heavy-duty wire cutters to clip the stems. If placing in a vase with water, dip the end of your wired stem into hot glue to seal and prevent rusting.
Fluffing: For that fresh from the garden look, fluff up the petals and leaves of your artificial flowers. Some petals are wired and can be manipulated to imitate different stages of bloom. Pull back the leaves and bend any wired sections to give each artificial flower a slightly different look.
